Rice pudding goes well warm or chilled and can be a delicious treat after dinner or as a small meal for breakfast. In Israel, sometimes it is even flavoured with rosewater! This is a recipe for a tasty and sweet rice pudding base that you can garnish with whatever toppings your heart desires.

Ingredients

  • 5 ½ cups of cold milk
  • ¼ cup of brown or white rice flour
  • ½ cup honey

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil, while mixing. Cover the pot, and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Mix in your choice of garnishes, customizing your rice pudding to your liking! Common garnishes include:

  • Ground cinnamon
  • Chopped almonds
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Chopped hazelnuts
  • Coconut flakes
  • Sultana raisins
  • Chopped dates
  • Chopped figs
  • Ground saffron
  • Lemon zest
  • Vanilla
  • Ground cardamom
  • Pomegranate seeds
